Introducing Rewound’s Bluetooth Landline-Style Phones

Family laughing together on a sofa while mum takes a call on a cream rotary phone

‘Back in the day’, the family phone was never built to be more than a phone. It was the one object in the house you had to actually walk over to and answer and, likely in rebellion to today’s fast-paced world, we’re wanting to feel this nostalgia again.

Rewound’s retro phones bring back simplicity: a real mechanical dial, proper handset weight, styled after the old fashioned telephones you grew up with, running on Bluetooth 5.2 so they still pair to your smartphone in less than ten seconds.

Every dial button is polished for the kind of tactile feedback an old style telephone actually had, and the body is finished in a warm, matte ABS that feels closer to ceramic than plastic. Press play and it doubles as a speaker. Hold the voice button and it wakes up Siri or Google Assistant. It rings, you answer it, and everything else about it is quietly more capable than it lets on, yet it doesn’t scream for your attention or for an update.

We’ve deliberately kept the range tight rather than offering ten colourways of the same shell.

Return to the joy of answering the phone without already knowing who’s at the other end, and knowing you’re giving your family and friends your undivided attention, just for a little while.

FAQs ABOUT RETRO PHONES

Frequently asked questions

Are vintage-style phones actually functional, or just for display?

All items in the Rewound collection are fully functional. Real dial, real Bluetooth calling, not a decorative replica.

Yes. It pairs with any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, iPhone or Android, in seconds, and remembers your phone so it reconnects automatically next time.

Turn it on, hold the pairing button until the light flashes, then select it from your phone’s Bluetooth settings. Full instructions come in the box. It’s simple though, we promise.

Yes. Tap the play/pause button and it streams whatever’s playing on your phone. A call coming in takes over automatically, then your music picks back up once you hang up.

Great question. As your mobile device is connected via Bluetooth, you can use Siri, Google Assistant or equivalent to, for example, “Call mum”. Your call will connect just as it would speaking directly to your mobile device, but instead you’ll be speaking through your corded physical phone.
